<p>Traveling around Metro Manila during Holy Week 2024? Here's what you need to know about the operating schedules of the city's major railway companies &ndash; LRT, MRT, and PNR.</p>
<p>As the city prepares for the observance of Holy Week, public transportation systems are adjusting their schedules to accommodate commuters. Alongside the malls that will have modified hours, the trains will also be operating on different schedules or pausing their services altogether.</p>
<p>The Light Rail Transit system (LRT)-1 will maintain its regular hours on March 25 and 26, catering to passengers during Holy Monday and Tuesday. However, from March 27 to March 31, there will be a temporary halt in operations from Baclaran to Roosevelt station as part of its annual maintenance works. Normal operations will resume on April 1, Monday.</p>

<p>LRT-2, on the other hand, will have shortened operating hours on Holy Wednesday, March 27, from the earliest trip at 5 a.m. to the last trip at 7 p.m. Following this, there will be no operations from March 28 (Maundy Thursday) to March 31 (Easter Sunday) due to maintenance activities associated with Semana Santa.</p>

<p>Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT) will maintain regular hours on Holy Wednesday, March 27. However, train trips will be suspended from Maundy Thursday, March 28, until Easter Sunday, March 31, to facilitate annual maintenance within the transport system. Commuters can expect normal operations to resume on April 1, Monday.</p>

<p>As for the Philippine National Railway (PNR), it will temporarily suspend its entire operation in Metro Manila starting March 28. This suspension is expected to last for five years to make way for the construction of the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) project.</p>
