Local theater production 9 Works Theatrical will bring Rico Blanco’s hit songs to the theater stage with their musical, “Liwanag sa Dilim!” It’s set to happen in March 2025 at the RCBC Plaza, Ayala Avenue, Makati City. Specific dates for the shows are yet to be announced.
9 Works Theatrical already shared a sneak peek of the musical back in 2019. Their visual featured Rico Blanco standing in the rain, and since then, fans have made the connection to it being a Rico Blanco musical. Originally planned to debut in 2020, the pandemic delayed its launch to a later date.
After five years since its teaser, we’ll finally be hearing the musical version of the Rivermaya songwriter and frontman's greatest hits, such as “You'll be Safe Here,” “214,” “Ulan,” and many more. See you there, Fam!
