The chart-topping artists of OPM are once again teaming up for a new song!&nbsp;
The well-known singer Janine Berdin, famous for her popular song "Sitwasyonship," and Arthur Nery, recognized for his hit "Pagsamo," are joining forces to bring out a fresh track titled "Mikasa."&nbsp;

For Janine, who really loves manga and anime, getting to mix her passion for music with her love for Japanese pop culture was like a dream come true. The song "Mikasa" is named after a character from "Attack On Titan" and talks about love that's not returned and the sadness that comes with it.
In an interview, Janine explained that the song's lyrics are like the thoughts of the "Attack On Titan" character Mikasa Ackerman, who feels deeply for someone who doesn't feel the same way back. She described the music as telling a story just like a movie does, with sad and powerful melodies.
&ldquo;I was driven to write by the suffering Mikasa endured just for love, because I also know so many people go through the same, and just like Mikasa, we all need to realize that sometimes the truth of the matter is we don&rsquo;t deserve the people we fall in love with.&rdquo;
Janine especially liked the part in the middle where the lyrics repeat "I want, I need you," and she praised the emotional guitar solo played by her friend TJ. &ldquo;&rsquo;Mikasa&rsquo; is a track I initially wrote myself and I decided to work on it with my bandmates - Kirk Basilio, Luke Casanova and TJ Castillon."
Arthur Nery, who helped with the song, brought his own touch to it. Janine talked about how they became friends online before the pandemic and bonded over their love for music and anime.
&ldquo;While working on the song, I couldn&rsquo;t do anything but imagine Arthur Nery on the track. How it&rsquo;d be fitting since I knew Arthur was also a fan of anime like me. This is actually my first time asking someone to collaborate with me since usually it&rsquo;s the other end asking me to hop on a track. Arthur&rsquo;s been nothing but lovely and supportive and we&rsquo;re honored to have him.&rdquo; Janine added.
The release of "Mikasa" on January 28, 2024, was extra special because it was also the birthday of both Janine and Arthur. This song is not just about their collaboration; it's also a celebration of their shared love for anime and how it inspires their creativity.
