Afgan recently expressed his admiration for Filipino artists like SB19&rsquo;s Stell, Christian Bautista, Lea Salonga, and James Reid. In an interview with <a href="https://www.philstar.com/entertainment/2024/08/01/2374473/indonesian-rb-singer-afgan-lauds-sb19s-stell-christian-bautista-other-pinoy-acts" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Philippine Star</a>, he shared his desire to visit the Philippines and work with these talented performers.
The "Bawalah Cintaku" singer, who has heard great things about the Philippines from his aunt and Filipino friends, was impressed by the vocal talent in the country. He said, "I feel like the Filipinos are like the black singers of Asia."
He mentioned his friendship with Christian Bautista and his appreciation for Bautista's music and voice. More so, he also discovered James Reid's music while they were both in the United States under the same management.

He was particularly impressed by SB19&rsquo;s Stell's performance of Celine Dion&rsquo;s "All By Myself" during the "Hitman: David Foster &amp; Friends Asia Tour 2024" in Manila.

He quoted, "There&rsquo;s this guy from SB19 who sang that, in the original key of Celine Dion. I was like, I can&rsquo;t even imagine. It was so good."
Afgan hopes to visit the Philippines soon and potentially collaborate with local artists to promote his new EP, Sonder, which features collaborations with K-pop rapper Jessi and Vietnamese-American R&amp;B artist thuy.
