We used to joke around about how NIKI&rsquo;s songs were perfect for movies. They hurt you in the right way, making you feel like you&rsquo;re the main character instead. &ldquo;Did you like her in the morning? Right before the sleep left your eyes.&rdquo; You were particularly fond of this song&rsquo;s lyrics. You said that it was made for the insecure who continue to live in the shadow of their lover&rsquo;s past partner. It was supposed to be a question asked to ensure that the person they loved before you didn&rsquo;t matter now. Or, as you hoped, that person never mattered just as much as you do.&nbsp;
As someone who once trusted you and your feelings for me, I didn&rsquo;t relate to the song as much as those who post it on their Instagram stories every now and then. Never did I think I could ask it with a different meaning. Never did it cross my mind that you&rsquo;d break my trust that way, too.
I was shaking, trying my best not to let you hear my sobs through the phone. You didn&rsquo;t deserve to know how much power you held over me. I kept my head high as I bombarded you with questions I didn&rsquo;t want to know the answer to but still needed to.&nbsp;
